You are invited to attend an open forum for all members to discuss the vision for the future of rowing at ZLAC. Co-Athletic Chairs, Lucille Toniolo and Alison Herr, want to co-create an understanding of what we want to do together at ZLAC with our coached rowing programs and how to be as inclusive as possible of all club members who row, without giving up the competitive momentum that ZLAC Masters and Juniors were building the years before the COVID pandemic.

We will be facilitating an organized, creative process to incorporate as many voices as possible through small table conversations, sharing out, and ways to continue to give feedback after. This is the beginning of a process. For those familiar with design thinking, it is a process used to solve "sticky situations" where there are no clear cut answers or solutions. The first few steps involve getting to know the people who care about the topic, empathizing with all interested stakeholders, and ideating about what an ideal "product" might look like. The more voices we get at this stage, the better. We will then hold a second forum to give feedback on the ideas we try from the first forum on July 10 to continue the iterative process of assessing and improving what we do. We hope you will join us!

In the film “27 Dresses” (2008), Katherine Heigl’s character is always a bridesmaid, never a bride, with a closet stuffed full of bridesmaid’s dresses ranging from chic to Little Bo Peep.
Most of us don’t have a closet full of leftover bridesmaid’s dresses, but we probably have one or two! This is your opportunity to get your money’s worth out of that dress your friend swore you’d wear again. At 127 Dresses, we plan to celebrate ZLAC’s 127th anniversary in style: we want you to wear a bridesmaid’s dress, a wedding dress, or any dress that you don’t get the chance to wear very often!
We’ll be putting the clothes to good use: a photographer will be capturing all of us with the new Garden surroundings so that the photos can be used on the website to show off our venue for inquiring brides! Men are welcome, and we encourage your partner to come so it looks like a real wedding reception!
Later, we’ll have dinner and dancing, and we’ll be collecting dresses to donate to a local charity. You can also “shop” the dresses for a small fee!
If you have a dress like this, you’d better wear it because we definitely want to see it!
Donations are highly encouraged, though admission is free. We still need you to RSVP.
(PS “127 Hours” is the one where he cuts his arm off. Please do not do that at our party.)
